Garry St. Leger
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Garry began practicing Judo with his twin brother at 8 years old under 1992 Haitian Judo Olympian Parnel Legros. Parnel Legros was a student of the legendary Rusty Kanokogi and Mr. Kanekogi. Garry continued training and competing in Judo throughout his youth and into adulthood, traveling across the United States and around the world. He eventually became ranked both nationally and internationally.
In 2006, Garry won his first national title, making him the number-one–ranked Judoka in the United States. This achievement soon propelled him to a larger stage on the international Judo circuit. In 2008, Garry went on to become an Olympic alternate for Beijing and later joined the U.S. World Team in 2010.
Garry is now the head instructor at Kano Martial Arts and a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt from Renzo Gracie/John Danaher. He continues to bring his deep technical knowledge and world-class experience to students on and off the mats.3x US National Champion
